I just started reading "Your Living Family Tree" by Gordon Burgett. Looks to be an interesting book. He suggests developing a website starting with a core couple and going forward in time as a way of preserving our lives and the lives of our family for future generations, as well as a way of connecting and staying in touch with family. So of course I sat the book down and immediately started designing a website using my maternal grandparents as the core couple. I have the webpage set so that only those whose email addresses are in the list can view the page with the hope that will encourage my aunts, uncles, cousins, etc to submit information to be included. I have a page where I will have a descendants chart. One for current contact information for the various family members. One for a family health tree so that family members can give a more complete family health history to their health care providers. One page will have subpages so that we can post our various annual family newsletters for everyone to read. A page for events for the current year, where I can post birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. A page to announce accomplishments and achievements.
I am hopeful that the website will grow and develop over time to become a growing living testament to our family tree.
If you are a descendant of Bertha and Gilbert Busch drop me a line with your email address so I can allow you access to the website
Having a unified area to assemble a family tree online is a simple method to impart your family ancestry to the remainder of your more distant family, however you have to inquire about the various online sites since they each have various highlights. When you choose to fabricate your family tree on the web , it is significant that you discover the site most appropriate for what you have as a primary concern by doing a tad of research.
